Torie Knighton joined Miller School in 2021 as our first school counselor. A native of Virginia, Torie moved from her hometown of Danville to the suburbs of Richmond and eventually, Louisa County where she graduated high school. Torie has a B.A. in Sociology with a concentration in Social Work from Mary Baldwin College. Her passion for advocating for children and helping them successfully develop the social emotional and self-advocacy skills and resilience necessary to be happy, healthy adults led her to a Masters in Education in School Counseling from Liberty University. Torie lives in Madison County with her family where she began her career as a school counselor at Madison County HIgh School.
Torie enjoys traveling and spending time with her husband, three children and Phoebe, their very lazy beagle. She enjoys running, reading, and watching college basketball.
