Julie joined the Miller School community in 2023 as a school nurse. She received her bachelor of Science in Nursing from James Madison University and then worked for 24 years with University of Virginia Health System as a registered nurse. She spent the majority of her time with UVA in the hospital as a Newborn Intensive Care Unit nurse. She then worked during the pandemic as a triage nurse in a family medicine and specialty care clinic.
Julie lives close to Miller School campus with her husband Josh, their three children, two Airedale Terriers and four cats. Her daughter Katie attends Miller School. Her daughter Sophie attends University of Florida and her son Sean is a senior at Western Albemarle High School.
When she is not in the school clinic Julie enjoys reading, knitting and practicing yoga. She also loves to spend time with her family, hiking, kayaking and traveling.
