Christine Zito grew up in Charlottesville and was excited to move back and join the Miller School community in the Fall of 2019. She graduated from Rochester Institute of Technology with a BS in Biotechnology, and then worked at the University of Virginia as a laboratory technician. She then returned to school to earn a MAT in Adolescence Education from Ithaca College. As a lifelong learner, Christine continued her education earning a graduate certificate in STEM Education Leadership and the equivalent in Special Education. She most recently earned an additional graduate degree in Integrative-STEM Education Curriculum and Instruction. She continues to be an active member of the National Science Teachers Association and has presented at multiple conferences on teaching vocabulary to students with language based learning differences.

As a member of the Science Department, Christine teaches the 8th grade science and study skills course. She is also the Applied Engineering Program Director, the faculty sponsor for Miller’s Concrete Canoe Team, and teaches our engineering courses, including e4usa. In her efforts to bring the e4usa curriculum to Miller, she became a teacher-coach and part of e4usa’s professional development staff.  Additionally, Christine is part of the SSC as the Student Support Specialist. In this role, she helps all Miller students to get the support they need to be successful in each of their courses.
